RASAC offers the opportunity for individuals to develop specialist skills and knowledge within our organisation, which can be used in direct work with people who have experienced rape and sexual violence.

Apply to be a RASAC Volunteer
Here at RASAC we are looking for individuals, over 18 years old, to volunteer within our team to provide helpline support for people who have experienced rape and sexual violence. Roles include:
- Helpline Support
- Administrative Support
- Volunteer 1-to-1 Support Worker
- Supporting programs in schools around consent and healthy relationships
- Outreach; leafleting, running stalls and social media campaigns
- Helping to run groups

RASAC Induction
Below is the training timetable for our 2026 recruitment of volunteers and placement students. This training will be held in person, in our Huddersfield office (town centre). All the sessions are important and build on each other as we progress through the weeks. For this reason, we ask that volunteers and placement students attend all sessions. If you are unable to commit to attending at least 90% of the training programme, we might not be able to accept your application this time but encourage you to apply during the next recruitment period.

People can volunteer at our centre in a variety of ways
- Helpline Volunteering – Free in-house training is mandatory.
- Community engagement activities such as; supporting courses on consent and healthy relationships in schools, running stalls, social media campaigns and leafletting.
- Volunteer Counselling – Volunteer Counsellor needs to be qualified to at least diploma level 4 and have experience or adequate awareness of working with sexual abuse/domestic violence. In-house training is mandatory.
- Placement Counselling – We provide placement counsellors with free in-house clinical supervision, additional to external supervision. Placement students will still have to pay for their own external clinical supervision.
- Placement Students – We offer placements to students on a range of courses, including: Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Social Care etc. These students will have the opportunity to work as RASAC Support Workers, providing practical and emotional support to survivors.
- Management Committee – Joining our group of trustees to assist with the management of our charitable organisation.
The qualities we require in our volunteers
- Women identifying or non-binary people, 18 years old or over
- Good listening and communication skills

- Willingness to undergo free in-house training
- An understanding around the issues of sexual and domestic violence
